Polar Express PJ Party

Last week at the library there was a Polar Express PJ Party.  So much fun!  We dressed up in our PJs and headed to the library at 7pm for some fun!  Along the way, we pulled off into a couple different subdivisions for some good ol' fashioned Christmas light displays :)  Devan thinks every house is "amazing!" and "beautiful!" (even the ones with only a couple lights).  Ahhhh... to be a kid again....

Dustin was in TX last week so he missed out.  And I knew it would be a tough time as Lexi has been in bed by 7:45 every night.  But I figured we would go and stay as long as we could, and hopefully there would be enough excitement that she would tough it out a little longer.  And guess what?  We made it until 8:15 before we had to head home!

First, Ms Terry read the "Polar Express" and talked about the prize it won.  Then she went through the craft projects and then on to the BIG surprise.... The room was divided into 2 sections.  Behind the giant retractable wall was..... a room full of trains!!!!!  It was SOOOO fun to see the kids squirm as they're watching the wall retract to Christmas music.  And when the wall was gone all the kids squeeled in excitement and ooh'd and ahhh'd :)
The reveal

Ms Terry saying "Wait!  Stay on your bottoms!  Nobody move until I say GO"  LOL.
Devan and Lexi had a grand ol' time playing with all the toys and going in and out of the giant cardboard train.

Then, we did a couple crafts (Devan got to pick 2 because we weren't going to be able to stay and do them all).  And then it was snack time!  Pretzels, animal crackers, or popcorn were your choices.  And capri sun to drink.  Even though I drank half of his capri sun, he still woke me up twice to go potty in the middle of the night.  But, at least he goes right back to bed.  I didn't get any pics because I was trying to keep Lexi happy and occupied while Devan did his 2 crafts, and munched on popcorn.

When we got home, he was still pumped up so we had some goofy time and chased Taylor around the house.
Superman, showing off his muscles and his bell necklace (made with Santa's bell- just like in the book!)

And for the kids that were polite and came up to Ms Terry before they left and said "Thank You", they were rewarded with a Polar Express tattoo!  And so, because Mr Devan has such great manners, we had to apply the tattoo before bed.  And because it was still wet, we cuddled on the couch and watched "Elf on a Shelf".
