Snowy spring day

Last Monday we were surprised with several inches of snow!  They were calling for snow, but we figured nothing would come of it as that has been the story of the winter.  But, surprise!  I was stoked that we had enough to get the snow gear out and go sledding :)

This was Lexi's first real experience.  The last couple times it snowed we waited until Lexi's nap before going out in it so then I could enjoy too and not have to stick with her.  She wasn't too sure- it was too hard to walk in.  But boy did she like sledding!

Daddy came out for a few minutes- he worked from home but had a little break between conference calls to come and enjoy the snow.  He went sledding with Devan and built this huge snowman!  I helped him left the balls on top of each other- they were heavy!

Fun B-Day party

Last weekend Devan went to a birthday party for a friend from playgroup.  It was at Pump It Up.  He had fun, but it was pretty boring for us and Lexi.

Lexi was limited to the car.  Although she had fun (we will have to bring ours up from the basement once it gets nicer- IF Devan can share- LOL), she also had to share with another toddler.  She did NOT like that!

Bye bye Lexi...  She figured out how to go backwards, but not forwards.
Devan at the top of the slide on a sack that made you go faster.  After one time he decided he would rather do it the old fashioned way- on his bottom without the sack :)
On a side note, I just wanted to post an awesome project: recovering our nasty eat-in chairs!!!  For $13 of fabric, they now look wonderful!  I think it was time- 6 yrs and kids spilling.... yep, much better!

And because I so desperately want it to be spring.... I give you a pic of our lonely crocus that popped up.  He has other friends, but they're not blooming yet.  Silly little guy.... He got a rude awakening when it snowed on Monday!

Randoms

Just trying to catch up a little....  I have so many pics to post because we've been so busy!  This week has been quite hectic.

We had a birthday party over the weekend, followed by t-ball and football.  Monday, we were surprised by several inches of snow.  Dustin stayed home and we all got to go sledding.  Tuesday we were supposed to have a field trip to Milburn Orchards for some Easter fun.  But that ended up being postponed until Wednesday, which worked out better for me.  Tuesday night, I hosted book club and I really needed the whole day to prep and clean.  Dustin was a tremendous help in the kitchen that night.  I wouldn't have been ready without him.  I made strawberry brie crostini with honey and basil.  This was the favorite of the night and there wasn't much left.  I also made an avocado yogurt garlic dip and crackle cookies.  And who can forget the raspberry tequila sangria :)  So... back to our week.  Wednesday we went to Milburn Orchards.  It was freezing cold!  We fed the animals, went on a hay ride and did an egg hunt and visited with the Easter bunny.  Today, Thursday, we went to an inflatable place where the kids ran and bounced and climbed for several hours.  Tomorrow we have playgroup.  And during the week we got boxes from Grammy and Nana, and all the fun that comes along with that :)  Saturday we're going to Auburn Heights for an egg hunt and then Easter is Sunday and we'll have our own egg hunt at home.

So, I have a lot of pictures to post from all our past events, as well as future Easter pics...  Sigh... It's never-ending!

This is a group picture they did at the library after story time.  They read books about camoflauge and stuff.  Devan's contribution is the stripes on the left arm (and you can kinda see his name written by it.
Just an afternoon spent reading and jumping :)
A couple weekends ago we had a nice day and got to wear hoodies for coats!!!  Yes!!!  And we got to spend the day together (usually we divide and conquer on the weekend).  We drove to the mall and got some things from Dicks Sporting Goods (we got a coupon from KAU T-Ball), Lexi got a pair of new shoes from Payless, and we went out to eat at a sit-down restaurant for lunch.  So much fun!  We were gone until like 3 and everyone was in good spirits!  It's exciting that Lexi is able to stretch it longer when we're doing errands.  We used to have to be back around noon for her nap, and because she never slept in the car, this sometimes resulted in her crying all the way home.  How exciting :P
She's ALWAYS dragging around her baby doll.  I think this is because Devan always has his monkey.

Walking at the mall.  So cute that they're holding hands :)

One afternoon is was reasonably warm so we headed outside to play for awhile.  I just realized Lexi is wearing the same outfit.  I guess that's because she really only has long sleeve shirts and this one is 3/4 sleeve.  LOL.

And then 2 days later we woke up to this:  snow!  How crazy!  But this snow didn't stick around long and had melted by the afternoon.
Lots more pics to come.....  That's my goal for the weekend: to get caught up!  We'll see if that actually happens... :)

St Patrick's Day

For St. Patrick's Day, Devan got Lucky Charms and green milk for breakfast.  The leprechaun left it for him :)  He tried it and says "Hmmm... It tastes different!  I think I like it though".

After a cold T-ball practice we got home to find that the leprechaun had been back and hid his treasure somewhere in the house for Devan to find.  And he left some clues along the way to help him.

The gold at the end of the rainbow!  Get it- because he has striped sheets???  LOL.  He had so much fun doing the treasure hunt.

Yummy gold coins :)
