Nana & Papa came to visit!

Mid May, Nana and Papa came out for their yearly visit.  Hooray!!!!  Too bad the weather didn't cooperate and it rained.... A LOT.... But, we did get a few things done, although my list of fun things were quickly squashed, due to the weather.  Boo.....

Eating lunch with Devan at school is a must!

Playing in the pool while the sun is out for a bit
Chilling on the covered patio in the rain, listening to birds and frogs, and just talking

Playing games on a rainy day

Watching the movie "UP".  I love that movie... :)
We finally got a break in the rain and went to downtown Woodlands, where we ate lunch at BurgerFi (they have the BEST veggie burger!), wandered around the shops, and wandered along the waterfront.  Papa amazed Lexi by spitting Coke into the river and all the fish would jump up thinking it was food.  She just laughed and laughed.

Devan's field day

Yahoo for field day!!!!  This was great to watch.  We only went to the afternoon races because that's when Devan had his individual race, and then his class competed in a few events.  Boy, was it HOT that day!
Devan ran the 80 yard dash, and won by a hair!  There was no way he was going to let anyone beat him.  The determination on his face was priceless :)
So hot and thirsty....
Then, his class competed in tug-o-war.  They made it to the championship, but lost.  2nd place isn't too bad though :)

Mid-May school work

As the end of the school year gets closer, they start wrapping things up and bringing home a lot of stuff.  Devan's book of predictions was so funny!

And we stopped by Gabby's house because she said she had a lot of veggies from her garden to give us.  Wow!  What a load!  She was showing us around her garden and what she's growing and kept giving us a little of this and a little of that.... and before you know it we're hauling 3 grocery bags full of veggies home!  Let's see if I can remember it all..... romaine, swiss chard, arugula, kale, tomatoes, cabbage, carrots, radishes, turnips, hot peppers, and a few strange things I had to look up.  I can't remember now.... (Gabby likes to grow "different" veggies- stuff you can't just get at the store).

In class this week, they talked about space.  So they used glue and glitter (stars) to write their name.
And this was really cool!  They took tin foil, put it over different jar lids and hammered it down to make craters in the moon.  Then they painted it, glued it, and added stars.  Lexi also added a shooting star :)
 Devan's Earth Day project

This is a picture Devan did in art class- buildings in our town.  He has H.E.B. (grocery store), Chucky Cheese, football stadium, Pizza Hut, and Hooters.  Hahahaha!!!!  He doesn't know what Hooters is, but it has a cute owl :)

 Yahoo!!!!  Oregon!!!!

They used sticks fro outside to make her name
And a cute sun with a rainbow
So proud of Devan!  97% for the end of year math test!  He only missed 1 question :)
