First day of spring & DMNH

So, every Friday I watch Caidyn for a couple hours.  And most Wednesday's Lexi goes to her house for awhile.  It's nice for them to get so much time together without the older siblings bossing them around.  Little blondie besties :)
And the first day of spring brought.... yep, you guess it.... MORE SNOW!!!!  Sheesh!  I think we've had enough already....
Lexi drew this picture while I was working one day.  I can't remember what it was now, but of course she had a giant story to accommodate it because let's face it, she NEVER stops talking!  LOL.
Devan had a day off from school for something (again, I can't remember anymore).  So I asked him what he wanted to do.  And he said he wanted to go to the Delaware Museum of Natural History. The current exhibit was about robots, so they had fun with all the interactive displays.

 Trying on their camouflage

 Walking like a fly
For homework, Devan had to read a non-fiction book and write about it.

St Patrick's Day

St Patrick's Day brought a deliciously green breakfast.  Yum yum!  Who doesn't like green milk in their shredded wheat???

And it was a balmy 50-something day.  Nice and humid.  We took full advantage of it, with bubbles and chalk and lunch outside and reading books outside.  Oh Vitamin D, how we missed you....

Sunny Days

Devan did this at school.  Finally brought it home.  I'm guessing they're taking down holiday stuff in the classroom...
They got Highlights books full of hidden pictures!  A little tough for Lexi, but she's getting the hang of it.
Yay!  Bike rides and dog walks!
She was carrying Skeeter around the house like this all day.  And he was letting her!  Poor cat....

And one day Taylor needed her PPE in order to play with Lexi...  Haha!

Melting snow= flooded garage.... + SkyZone!!!!

Look who wanted to wear Devan's sweatshirt.  She loves her brother so much :)
And all the melting snow means we had major flooding.  Our garage flooded because all the water from the hill flowed down our way.  We spent hours with shovels and a giant broom to push the water past the garage door and down the driveway to drain.  Meanwhile, I stuffed towels under the garage door to try and keep most of the water out.  So frustrating....  But Lexi had fun.

We had a playdate at SkyZone.  This is a new fad up here- giant trampolines everywhere.  On certain mornings they have "toddler time" where all the kids are under 5.  This definitely helps with the rowdiness.  Boy did Lexi have a blast!
Showing off her special socks:

We got a lot of snow.... in March!

If I remember correctly, this storm dumped 9 inches.....  Dustin was gone, and our super sweet neighbors across the street used their snow blower on our driveway.  They had it done is 15 minutes!  It would've taken me probably 3 hours to shovel...  Love them :)

Let me in please, mommy... It's cold!
Getting some much-needed cuddles on the couch :)

Dr Seuss week

First, Lexi at soccer.  Such concentration!
One of the activities for Dr Seuss week was that they had to pick their favorite book and dress like one of the characters.  This was a big ordeal to find the perfect glasses for Devan.  And then, to actually get the lenses OUT.  Boy, you should've seen Grammy and I- dumb and dumber.  LOL.  Anyway, Devan is dressed as Jack from the Magic Tree House series.  He absolutely loves these books.  Reminds me of the Boxcar Children series....  Jack has glasses, always wears his backback, jeans, and a sweatshirt.

Meanwhile, Lexi and I enjoyed our Dr Seuss storytime at the library.  But, his books are pretty winded for this age group.  Poor Ms Terry struggled to keep the kids attention...  But then we made Cat in the Hat masks!

Pretty good picture, taken by Lexi herself!
And Devan came home with his costume.  Each kid was a "Thing".  you know, Thing 1 and Thing 2 from the Dr Seuss books?  Well, he was Thing 13 because that's his number in class.
And another game of Sorry!....  every night we have to play, and it's an hour!
And now for some school work/ homework (all related to Dr Seuss):
