Mr. Handyman

Mr. Handyman came yesterday to blow out the sprinklers for the winter.... and he only charged me $5!!! What a deal! It did take longer than Southern Irrigation would have... and I did get a little wet... but Southern Irrigation charges $75 and Mr. Handyman (Dustin) only cost me $5 for parts- labor was free!! Woohoo!!

We also tiled the master bath on Saturday- ALL DAY. So many cuts and notches and circles... cuts EVERYWHERE!!! I just want whole tiles!!! But it looks great. Today I will grout and then I will have my bathroom back by Thursday! Woohoo!! I miss my shower and room for all my stuff.... the hall bathroom is just too small for everything I need! My hair and makeup stuff is in the hall.... :(

And on Sunday we painted the hall bathroom. Finally the last room in the house is painted!

And I have to give a shout out to the men in black and orange.... GO BEAVS!!! I have to admit, we were worried (okay, VERY worried) after Kahut missed the extra point.... But we pulled it out at the last second (or 4 seconds)... Does anyone else smell roses?????

First Snow

Winter is finally here.... a little early this year. This morning we got our first snow! On our daily morning walk, it started to snow (32 degrees- I know, we're crazy for walking in the cold). It was coming down good (and at a 45 degree angle), but wasn't sticking to the roads. But by the time I left for work, everything was melted.

Luckily I was bundled up in multiple jackets, scarf, gloves, beanie, etc. But it was still cold! Taylor enjoyed trying to catch the white flakes....

Project Updates

Yeah!!! My hubby got the internet working! I knew there was a reason I kept him around.... :) As promised, here are the pictures for all the projects we've been doing.

Stained deck:

Finished crown molding:
Started tiling the hall bathroom:

And finally..... week 17 belly pictures:

Bird or Baby?

Dustin and I were at Home Depot last night and we saw a peculiar thing. There was an old couple in front of us fussing with some blankets in their cart. Then I saw a mobile. Awww.... cute grandparents.... But then I looked closer. This mobile, blankets, stuffed animal were in a litter box! Abviously NOT a baby. The lady pulled back the top blanket to reveal.....

A PARROT!!!!!

What?!?!? A white parrot bundled up in a plaid scarf up to its neck. Followed by 2 blankets, a stuffed animal, and another blanket overtop. Crazy! But good for a laugh... There are some weird people out there....

On another note...

I know you are waiting for pictures. But we had a HUGE storm on Friday night that knocked out power for 6 hrs. Ever since then, we cannot get on the internet. So once we get back online I promise to post pictures of our projects and growing belly.

Week 16

Here it is.... the 16th week already! Last week it was the size of a naval orange and growing rapidly. This week it measures 4.5 inches from crown to rump and weighs about 2.8 ounces (but my uterus now weighs 8.75 ounces). Fingernails are well formed and fine hair may be growing on its head along with eyebrows and eyelashes. Within the next few weeks I should feel the baby move!

I'm feeling great. Much more energy and motivation to get things done. I've even made dinner 3 nights in a row! People are now starting to make comments about me "showing". Put on my jeans last Monday and had a hard time buttoning them. So I finally broke down and bought my first pair of "fat" pants! YEAH for elastic waistbands!! Actually really comfortable! (But they're still low rise and cute! None of this over the belly elastic for me!) I've now gained 5 1/2 pounds and am starting to feel "big". My clothes don't fit the same as they used to. Guess that's an excuse to go shopping :)

Crown Molding

We've been working hard on putting up crown molding in the formal living and dining rooms. It was a pretty easy project once we got the hang of it (thanks to my dad's knowledge!). The hard part was figuring out the angles in the corners because they aren't 90 degrees like they should be!

Nice tool belt Dustin!

It's looking really good. Now we just have to paint it!
