Devan's 4th Birthday

Saturday was Devan's 4th birthday party.  It was a huge success (and A LOT of prep work!).  Saturday was a crazy day, and then we had the party on top of everything.  The night before, Dustin was out trying to finish some loose ends on the deck to make it safe (wiring outlets so we didn't have loose wire).  Saturday was set up and organizing and everything else.  Devan had team pictures for T-ball.  Then we raced home and ate lunch.  Then they went to his T-ball game while I stayed home and set up for the party.  It took a lot longer than I thought do do everything and I'm glad it was just me and the dog.  I couldn't imagine trying to do everything with Lexi!  Good thing she was watching Devan's game with Grammy :)

Devan had to leave his game early in order to make it back and change real quick for his party.  We were so blessed that 2 of my girls made the long trek up from VA :)  Jen and Bella showed up a little before 3.  I was still putting food out and last minute stuff.  Devan got home and had to change, even though he wanted to hang with Bella.  Then everyone started showing up.  And the party started :)

Devan helped put together the gift bags for his friends

He picked out the bags from Michael's and I found these pirate Thank You tags to print and glue on the front

For the entrance: pirate bandana, eye patch, and tattoos
During Devan's game, I was busy frosting cupcakes and decorating them.  Good thing I spent so much time the week before making the flags and sails.  Devan picked out some great sugar crystals from the store: blue for the ocean and gold (actually looked like little gold nuggets).

Devan's cupcake: he picked out his decorations

Gift bags all ready

All pirates entering got tattoo'd and pirate gear

We had "pin the treasure chest on the X" game set up.  We did this after the kids ran around for awhile, and then went to cupcakes.

 Food!!

Lexi was soooo tired... She just had to make it until everyone arrived, and then took a nice long nap during the party

Cupcake time!!!

After cupcakes, the kids went on a treasure hunt.  The older ones read the clues and everyone worked together to find the treasure

The treasure!  A treasure chest pinata

After the party was over, Jen, Bella, Hailey, Jason and Grace stayed late that night.  We hung out like old times and it was great!  We opened the presents (and I was enjoying hanging out and seeing what he got that I totally forgot to take pictures until the last one!)

Then the night ended in the typical get-together way: rough-housing!!!
This is Grace's favorite game: having Dustin put her through the basketball hoop.  And now ALL the kids had to do it :)

And the party is never complete without a good-ol-fashioned tickle fight :)

Most of the gang.  (Oh how I miss the gang....  Great friends that will never be replaced....)
