Lexi's 1st birthday party

For Lexi's 1st birthday party, we decided to just make it a family affair.  Life isn't the same up here (not bad, just different) and we've met a lot of people here, but we didn't want to throw a huge party for her (and where do you make the "cuts" to decide which people are invited?).  So it was originally just going to be the 4 of us.  But then Dustin had a brilliant idea: let's get both sides of the family on Skype for the party!  And wha-la, a family birthday party from across the US :)

 

It was great!  All of Lexi's (and Devan's) presents arrived on Friday.  The cake was made (and both sides had cake too!).  We all got to sing "Happy Birthday", eat cake, and watch her (and Devan) open the presents!  I think it was a special moment for everyone :)

Devan picked out 4 of his old toys to give to Lexi.  He wrapped them and everything!  This was a great way for us to minimize MORE toys in the house, and should hopefully eliminate some of the sharing problems we've been having.  But Devan was excited to give her his presents.  And now, he's been playing with them more than her!  But he's been pretty good about letting her have a turn too.
