January Shennanigans

January has arrived..... back to the daily grind of school and weekly activities.....

For 100th day of school, they had to dress like they were 100 yrs old.  We all know how much Devan likes to dress up.... so we compromised and put him in a button down and khakis like "grandpas" wear.
A neighbor several doors down has an amazing garden.  She stopped by one day and offered to trade veggies for some of our grapefruit.  We definitely got the better end of the deal on this!  Each week she would drop off a giant grocery bag full of stuff and would pick a bag of grapefruit.  Our tree had so many grapefruit I was giving them away to everyone!  Too much acid on the tummy....  Anyway, our first bag contained radishes, romaine, spinach, and arugula.
 Nap time
 Doing playdough

My big helper: pushing the shopping cart around Kroger

And, cleaning up after their playdough mess
Yummy dinner with the fresh veggies: mixed salad and roasted radishes
And, Lexi started school!  Well, kind of....  I put her in a "Kinder Ready" class that met once a week for 3 hrs.  She absolutely loved it!  And, I got 2.5 hrs to catch up on work and get a run in.  Yay!

Each week was a different theme based off of the book they were reading.  They had story time, arts and crafts, "PE" which was different games, science experiements, etc.  And at the end they ate lunch.

A note from Devan to Lexi.  I found this in his room while cleaning.  It says: Dear Lexi.  I know you want to be done golfing but you will want to eat at the golfing place.  Love Devan.  LOL LOL LOL.
 Some school work

Devan's first chapter book he read all by himself.  He had gotten so good that for his reading homework he had to pick a chapter book.  This counted as 10 regular books.  And when he was done, he got to pick out a prize.  (After 10 books read 3 times each, they got to pick a prize from the prize box).

 Just being silly
