Misc June

Loving the perfect June weather! Hanging out with friends, baseball tournaments, and lots of animal encounters!

First game with the Magnolia Generals

This HUGE snake lives in the rock wall of our pool, under the slide. But we have always just seen its head poking out and had NO IDEA how big it was!!! It's a harmless rat snake, but still.... I think he's eating our frogs :( This day he was sunning himself on our pillar on the back patio. Gross.....

We have baby wrens.... in Dustin's tool belt in the garage. Just great..... Now I have to leave the garage door open all the time so the mommy and daddy can come back and forth to feed them. In the mornings I open it and the parents have been outside all night. They fly in as soon as the door cracks. Luckily, it's hot and humid so the babies won't freeze.

After an afternoon thunderstorm, this crawfish was making its way from one side of the driveway to the other. They live in our constantly moist ditch. Kids loved seeing what makes those weird mounds.

Snakes at the library

But first.... Got up in the morning to find this: Not only did Devan crawl into bed with Lexi sometime in the middle of the night, but he's wearing his swim trunks... ????

This year Devan got brave and actually HELD a snake :)

Alice in Wonderland

As part of the summer reading program, the library hosted a 2-person play. They did Alice in Wonderland. I thought it was great. The kids were confused because they've never seen the movie so didn't understand the context. I had to fill them in on what was going on. Note to self: make them watch the movie BEFORE going to the play.
