Longwood w/family

Of course, we had to go to Longwood Gardens.  It was such a nice day!  And, because everything bloomed late this year, they were able to enjoy the tulips!  We were a week late of peak blooming season, but there was still plenty to see.  We packed a picnic lunch and lots of water and spent several hours walking around.  Lexi was such a trooper!

 Love the bullfrogs!

Boy does she love the camera :)

Devan gave me my Mother's Day gift early because he couldn't wait :)
Mom you are the best in the whole world.  I really really love you.

Now, at first I was offended with this, but he explained it and made me feel better ;)

My mom is as pretty as a horse (this is because I have long silky hair like a horse does and they are so pretty).  She is as sweet as ice cream.  She is as smart as me (hahaha!).  But most of all she is as special as the sun (awwww).

Nana, Papa & Pat Pat visit

Hooray!  Finally time for Nana, Papa, and Pat Pat's visit!  Can't believe it's been a whole year since they've been out.  It was such a good visit and everyone had a great time.  As always, it felt too short and was hard to say goodbye.  But it will only be 2 short months before we see them again in OR :)

Nana and I took advantage of the perfect weather to do some much-needed gardening.  And Lexi found a frog friend.

 Wearing Pat Pat's sunglasses

Devan's turn at the dentist took up one evening.  And he had two evening games that same week.  So we didn't have as much down time as I would've liked in the evening.  The dentist went well, and it was nice just taking him and leaving Lexi at home.  This time he answered the questions without too much prompting.  Progress!

Adventures of Lexi

We finally got to wear shorts today!  It's May 1st and also the first day for shorts.  So we headed to the park for some sun.

 Devan's Cat in the Hat
Basketball time!
Taylor is such a good sport :)

Homework & school work

First, we had 3 goldfinches on the feeder at once :)
Devan's homework.  This was a "short story" about an ouchy.  "When I get a ouchy I do not cry.  And it doesn't hurt.  I don't get hurt and that is true."  Hahahaha!!!!!

 Reading comprehension about rain
Question: what can you do to save the earth?  Devan's answer: Pick up trash.  I see trash on the side of the road.  Trash is bad because animals can get hurt.
"I will make them a super hero too.  I will play soccer with them.  And then we will hug each other."

His shape book (not sure why these posted sideways....).  Some of his drawings using the shapes were very creative!
